She sets about her work vigorously

24th Jun 2007

I’m going to try my hardest to be productive today and work through the fatigue. And back pain. That is one of the hardest things about sleeping right now: the back pain. I get horrible muscle spasms right around my shoulder blade at night. Oh well, it’ll be over soon.

Anyways. I found a recipe for Scotch eggs last night with I intend to try making today, thanks to pre-hard-boiled Trader Joes eggs. This recipe calls for ground turkey meat, sage, and maple syrup (a little bit) wrapped around a hardboiled egg, then dipped in egg and rolled in panko, and fried in vegetable oil. I’ve always loved scotch eggs since I was a kid, and Adam loved them too when we were in England. Somehow we were unable to get any of them through customs though, so I’ve been searching for a recipe ever since. My next mission is to find a good recipe for sausage rolls. I think I’ll have to use actual sausage meat for that, so I’ll need to figure out a good brand after I find a recipe. The puff pastry shouldn’t be hard though.

I also need to clean up the upstairs, which is terribly messy from my being sick and not able to tidy up, and I need to scrub down the bathrooms to kill all the germies.

Then, I have Becky’s Baby shower at 2pm in Woodbridge. Her present was really hard to wrap, but it looks fantastic now with the cutest purple and silver wrapping paper. Then we’ll be going over to the Kiraly’s to “do” Fathers Day, since we were all busy last week.

I know this is really early, but I feel like I”m nesting already. Looking ahead into the next few months I realize how much I want to get done, and it seems like so much. Of course, if we end up moving it’ll all be pointless because I’ll have to set everything up all over again, but I don’t mind that at all. I’ve found that there are so many things I want to do…like remodel the kitchen. I know thats not happening, but still, a girl can dream.

If you get a chance, click on over to Michelle Malkin today. She has an excellent post on the human rights situation in Iran.

Time to get to work!
